Champions for Children: Every year we celebrate and support the children we serve through our annual Spring Gala. The 2010 Champions for Children awards event honored the St. Louis Alumae Association of Kappa Delta, Derek Mays, and The Belle Center for exemplary support to children and to SSDN. This year two generous anonymous donors gave SSDN a $25,000 challenge grant for scholarship donations, generating over $25,000 in matching gifts at the gala! In total, the 2010 event raised more than $110,000 to fund all of the things that children from under-resourced communities deserve: excellent teachers, new curriculum materials, health, disabilities, family support specialists, field trips, family events and much more.
In 2011, not only will we be celebrating the 5th anniversary of Champions for Children, we will be celebrating the 125th anniversery of South Side Day Nursery! You will not want to miss out on this monumental event!
